Dancer rooted in flamenco, free improvisation, and Japanese body weather dance.
She gravitates towards improvised sound laboratories through the body. The foundations of her work lie in the flamenco essence of sound in space, the body that resonates in movement and danced space. She began her research between the attitude of flamenco rhythm and the organic speed of body weather in 2001. In 2004, free music joined her empirical path, and since then, she has been daily exploring these worlds and horizons. In 2014, she created the piece “Le Ça,” co-produced by Mercat de les Flors in Barcelona and Rencontres Chorégraphiques de la Seine-Saint-Denis, while also presenting pieces such as “El plec,” “SAI, the Butterfly’s Dream,” “Corners and Clearings of Forests,” and “La Mirada 3.0,” among others.
In 1992, she danced at the Liceu Theatre, directed by Cristina Hoyos and Núria Espert in Bizet’s opera Carmen. In 1997, she won the Puig-Porret Award with the show Da Carisma. She has participated in film and music recordings, including Arts Heist, directed by Bryan Goeres, and Lola vende cá, directed by Llorenç Soler.
Currently, her dance has shared the stage with Agustí Fernández, Nuno Rebelo, Joan Saura, Johannes Nästesjö, Albert Cirera, Joëlle Léandre, Ramon Prats, Iván González, Mats Gustafsson, Peter Evans, among others. She has performed in museums such as MACBA in Barcelona, IVAM in Valencia, and MUCEM in Marseille, with the piece “20 Dancers for the XX Century” by Boris Charmatz’s company. She has also participated in “Standing and Sitting” by Ivo Sans at the Miró Foundation and “Dancing Museums” by Quim Bigues for Mercat de les Flors and the Miró Foundation. In 2014, she presented the piece “Le Ça” at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago.
She teaches workshops at the University of Fine Arts and in the Master’s program in Sound Art at ESMUC in Barcelona. Additionally, she has conducted masterclasses and workshops in various cities worldwide, including Mexico City, Seoul, Chicago, and Stockholm, among others. She continues to work from the Montseny region, eager to keep transmitting what she discovers with each new step.
