Seminar at Intercat (Center for Interstellar Catalysis). Stefan gave an online seminar entitled: “Nanoscale Silicate Stardust: Astrochemical Relevance and Observational Signatures”. Thanks to Liv Hornekaer and Bjork Hammer for inviting/hosting me - May 2021.

JWST proposal accepted.
We are a small part of a recently accepted proposal to use the soon-to-be-launched James Webb Space Telescope @NASAWebb where our efforts in modelling nanosilicate cosmic dust were used: "Illuminating  the Dust Properties in the diffuse ISM with JWST" - led by Ciska Kemper and Sascha Zeegers - April 2021.

Strain-induced electron pairing in 2D covalent organic radical frameworks (2D CORFs).
The background to our recent paper published in Nature Communications is described in a "Behind the Paper" post: https://chemistrycommunity.nature.com/posts/strain-induced-radical-change-a-2d-perspective - March 2021

Joan Mariñoso gives a oral presentation at the March APS (American Physical Society).
The talk - "Temperature affects the IR spectra of nanosilicate cosmic dust" - was given online in the Division of Chemical Physics focus session "The Chemical Physics of Molecules in Space" and highlighted work from Joan's Master's thesis (also published as: How does Temperature Affect the Infrared Spectra of Nanosized Silicate Dust, ACS Earth and Space Science 5, 812–823 (2021) - March 2021.

Radical 2D Materials Respond under Pressure -
our VIP paper in Adv. Funct. Mater. is highlighted on the IQTC News page: https://www.iqtc.ub.edu/news/radical-2d-materials-change-under-pressure/ - Feb 2021

VIP paper. Our paper in Advanced Functional Materials has been designated as a Very important Paper (VIP) - awarded to only ~5% of papers: 2D Hexagonal Covalent Organic Radical Frameworks as Tunable Correlated Electron Systems, Raul Santiago, Isaac Alcón, Jordi Ribas‐Arino, Mercè Deuma, Ibério de P. R. Moreira, Stefan T. Bromley, Advanced Functional Materials 31, 2004584 (2021)  - Feb 2021.

Kilian Jutglar won the poster prize at the 2021 ITQC meeting for his work on: "Twistable Dipolar Aryl Rings as Electric Field Actuated Conformational Molecular Switches" based on his first ever article (now published in PCCP - doi.org/10.1039/D0CP06549H). Congratulations Kilian! - Jan 2021
