Editor's choice. Our article "Understanding the interplay between size, morphology and energy gap in photoactive TiO2 nanoparticles" published in Nanoscale has been highlighted as an Editor's choice in a collection on: Nanomaterials for energy, catalysis and electronics - August 2021

Seminar at Intercat (Center for Interstellar Catalysis).
Stefan gave an online seminar entitled: “Nanoscale Silicate Stardust: Astrochemical Relevance and Observational Signatures”. Thanks to Liv Hornekaer and Bjork Hammer for inviting/hosting me. You can watch the recorded talk here -  May 2021.

JWST proposal accepted.
We are a small part of a recently accepted proposal to use the soon-to-be-launched James Webb Space Telescope @NASAWebb where our efforts in modelling nanosilicate cosmic dust were used: "Illuminating  the Dust Properties in the diffuse ISM with JWST" - led by Ciska Kemper and Sascha Zeegers - April 2021.

Strain-induced electron pairing in 2D covalent organic radical frameworks (2D CORFs). The background to our recent paper published in Nature Communications is described in a "Behind the Paper" post: https://chemistrycommunity.nature.com/posts/strain-induced-radical-change-a-2d-perspective. The article was also selected as an Editor highlight -  March 2021

Joan Mariñoso gives a oral presentation at the March APS (American Physical Society).
The talk - "Temperature affects the IR spectra of nanosilicate cosmic dust" - was given online in the Division of Chemical Physics focus session "The Chemical Physics of Molecules in Space" and highlighted work from Joan's Master's thesis (also published as: How does Temperature Affect the Infrared Spectra of Nanosized Silicate Dust, ACS Earth and Space Science 5, 812–823 (2021) - March 2021.
