Our group actively engages in initiatives promoted by local institutions and government to bring scientific knowledge closer to society.

University of Barcelona’s Science Fest

The group actively participates in various initiatives led by the University of Barcelona to promote knowledge transfer to society and to inspire future students to pursue scientific careers.

Entrepreneurship and Innovation Summer School

We have led innovative programs supported by EIT Health (European Commission) to help students from across Europe bring their foodtech ideas to market.

Over three consecutive years, the INJOY (Innovating the Joy of Eating and Healthy Aging) Summer School has engaged up to 200 students and 50 mentors and instructors.

We bring top scientists closer to the public

We were proud to promote and co-organize the public lecture given by Professor David Wishart at the CosmoCaixa Science Museum on June 13, 2025, in collaboration with the University of Barcelona.
The talk was part of the Great Scientists series organized by the ”la Caixa” Foundation, which brings renowned scientific figures closer to society and showcases groundbreaking contributions that have transformed our understanding of science.

Notable Society Figures Recognition

Professor Cristina Andrés-Lacueva served as the academic sponsor for the honorary doctorate awarded to renowned Catalan chef Carme Ruscalleda. In her laudatio, she emphasized that “Ruscalleda fully meets the criteria for receiving the honorary doctorate: she has successfully united tradition and innovation, demonstrated exceptional leadership and mastery, established scientific collaborations with the university, and shown a strong commitment to sustainable cuisine.”
