Javier García-Serrano, RyC researcher and professor at METEO-UB, has been a Contributing Author to the IPCC 6th Assessment Report (AR6) Chapter 4 "Future Global Climate: Scenario-Based Projections and Near-Term Information", in Climate Change 2021: The Physical Science Basis. Contribution of Working Group I to the Sixth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

In particular, his contribution has focused on the impact of climate change on El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) and Pacific Decadal Variabilty (PDV).
