Presentació

  • Juana Castro Santa is a Postdoctoral fellow at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the Universitat de Barcelona (Spain). She is an economist trained in environmental sciences and psychology. Her line of research is focused on the cognitive and psychological determinants of behaviour, in particular, of pro-environmental behaviours. She did her PhD. at the Institute of Environmental Science & Technology (ICTA) as part of an ERC project evaluating the effectiveness of climate policies. In particular, she focused on the study of commercial advertising as a driver of unsustainable consumption patterns, and thus as a driver of carbon emissions. Her research is multidisciplinary combining environmental, economic and psychological approaches. In her postdoctoral project she explores collective behaviour as a structural characteristic of climate commons using experimental economics methods. email: juana224@gmail.com.

  • Brais Suárez Eiroa is a Margarita Salas postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the Universitat de Barcelona (Spain) (from Jan 2023 to Dec 2024). He is also part of the Post-Growth Innovation Lab at the Universidade de Vigo. His research focuses on Ecological Economics, Political Ecology and Degrowth. His PhD addressed two main topics: how to deal with and manage global ecological concerns, and the limitations of the circular economy to build up sustainable and just societies, especially from an ecological economics perspective. Then, under the H2020 Just2CE project, he has been working on how to integrate social justice in the transition to the circular economy. His forthcoming investigations are expected to engage with degrowth, particularly from a political perspective. brsuarez@uvigo.es.
