Academic certifications

The University of Barcelona, in compliance with the Regulation on the use of electronic media within the scope of the University of Barcelona, will preferentially issue academic certificates in electronic format. These certificates have the same cost and legal effects as those issued in paper support.

Academic certificates issued digitally can be printed on paper by incorporating a 'safe verification code' that will allow its authenticity to be verified electronically at the University's electronic seat. Therefore, if the receiving organism requires the document in a physical format, the student can also submit it if equally valid. Therefore, the student can have multiple copies of the document (the file can be copied or printed) paying for a single expedition, and it will be valid for the 3 years following the issue.

To serve those students who need a legalization of signatures (only in cases where the academic certificate is required for foreign bodies) the option of issuing documents in paper support and handwritten signature will be maintained.

The issuing of academic certificates in digital format is part of the projects of Electronic Administration that the University of Barcelona, with the aim of promoting telematic services to the university community, promoting the efficiency and optimization of resources and complying with the requirements of Law 11/2007 on electronic access to public services.
