minibasin?

El terme anglès minibasin pertany a l’àmbit de la geologia i està ben definit en el capítol 7 del llibre Salt tectonics. Principles and practice:

As its name suggests, a minibasin is a small basin, or depression, but its key feature is that it subsides into relatively thick salt. A classic form of minibasin is a dish-shaped syncline of sediments a few tens of kilometers in diameter sinking into a much wider expanse of salt. Thus, a minibasin is initially surrounded and floored by salt or a salt weld (Figure 7.1). Salt is expelled from beneath the minibasin and rises around its margin. Salt expulsion creates space for the minibasin to deepen. A minibasin ultimately stops sinking when it welds at its base, like a grounding ship.
