PhD Student
University of Barcelona

I am a 4rth year PhD student interested in researching the development of innovative drug candidates to find more effective therapeutic cancer treatments, such as the use of PROTACs approach on E3 ligases. I graduated with a degree in Pharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Food Sciences, University of Barcelona in 2020. During my undergraduate studies, I performed a stay at the Medicinal Chemistry Laboratory, University of Barcelona, under the supervision of Prof. Carmen Escolano and the Research Porgramm offered by the Pharmacy Degree, where her project was awarded with honors. I pursued my master thesis at the Verhlest Laboratory in the Katholieke Universiteit of Leuven, Belgium, under the supervision of Dr. Marta Barniol and Prof. Dr. Steven Verhelst in 2019. Then, I went back to Spain to start her PhD thesis in Organic Chemistry at the Medicinal Chemistry Laboratory and GaldeLab under the co-supervision of Prof. Carmen Escolano and Dr. Carles Galdeano in October 2020. My research project is based on the development of innovative drug candidates for undruggable proteins to find more effective therapeutic cancer treatments with the use of PROTACs as a novel drug modality.
