Summary

The consolidated research group Women's Creation and Thought (CiPD2021 SGR 01097) consolidates a large part of the research staff of the previous group, many of whom are attached to the ADHUC-Theory, Gender, Sexuality Research Centre, and incorporates the team of the Contemporary British Theatre Barcelona (CBTB2017SGR40), with which it converges in research and postgraduate activities, as well as in related research from the fields of philosophy, literature and art.

  1. To critically update theories of gender and sexuality and their application to literature, theatre, thought, bioethics and art from current theoretical perspectives and challenges: posthumanism; cultural studies; post and decolonialism; theory of affects; race studies; exclusion; animal studies; environmental studies.
  2. To study the representation of women and LGTBIQ+ people in cultural production in relation to identity categories from the perspective of intersectionality and, by extension, subjects marked by representations that favour social minoritisation, especially production considered "peripheral" and popular culture.
  3. To recover and study the texts of women's philosophical production (Western and Eastern), paying attention to the networks that contribute to the formation of affective communities, those that lay the foundations of transformative activism or make possible the transmission of specific knowledge.
  4. Intervene in contemporary scientific debates on the role of gender difference in the construction of the subject, social and health practices from the point of view of bioethics, representation and critical thinking.
