Selection of audiovisual projects from the 2019-20 academic year

The students enrolled on the course “The process of audiovisual production” (promotion 2018), taught by the teachers Endika Rey and Marta Ávila, have created some projects during the second semester of the course.

This year, due to the health crisis, the students have had to carry out their projects with their own means and confined at home.

The usual short film and web series projects have been replaced by two alternatives: students could choose, on the one hand, to make a sales dossier with mood, teaser and video pitchs; or, on the other, to produce a fictional or non-fictional audiovisual piece about confinement.

Here are some of the most outstanding works:

Segundo primera (mood and teaser). Made by Aina Gimeno, Maria González, Ona Manzano and Paula Pérez.

Synopsis: Sergio, a 37-year-old man who has a daughter, moves into the apartment of Gael, a 25 year old young man. Samia, 11, Sergio’s daughter, will become the apex of affection or discord.

No está el horno para bollos (audiovisual fiction about confinement). Made by Florencia Barreiro, Paula Borrás, Sílvia Casas, Clara Julián and Cinta Paloma.

Synopsis: Paula, a young girl, is bored at home during confinement. She is making a video diary and remembers the couples she has had and some moments she lived with each of them. Given the diversity among all the exes, she unconsciously wonders what must be her ideal partner prototype.

(Des)confinats (audiovisual non fiction project about confinement). Made by Maria Anton, Ariadna Arenyes, Rosa Mesia, Georgina Mulet and Roger Pérez.

Making a documentary has given us the opportunity to express that each house is a world and each family has a story to tell. It can be seen how some members have pets, others have small brothers, some live in a flat in Barcelona and others are in a house in the middle of the mountain, some of us have experienced more chaotic situations and others have gone through confinement in a more relaxed way.

Tenemos q hablar (video pitch in Instagram story format). Made by Daphne Bos, Mar de la Pinta, Laia Egea, Ayla Fernández and Marta Roldan.

Synopsis: Judith, a 19-year-old girl, has just been dumped by her boyfriend on WhatsApp. She would like to party, visit some stores, get hugs from her friends … but due to the global pandemic that keeps the population at their homes, Judith will have to find alternative ways to overcome her breakup. How will Judith face the 5 stages of grief?
