The “la Caixa” Bank Foundation finances the project “Dissection of the functional role of epicardial metabolism during the development of the heart and the repair after myocardial infarction” in its first call for Research and Health. This research project is led by Dr. Ofelia Martínez-Estrada from the University of Barcelona-Bosch i Gimpera Foundation and member of the IBUB and by Dr. Josep A Villena of the VHIR and, it is part of the 20 projects selected from a total of 785. As a whole, the winning proposals will receive 12 million euros, coming from the field of research on cardiovascular diseases, infectious diseases, cancer, neurosciences and transversal conditions.
