Lecturer Lourdes Fañanás receives the 2017 NARSAD Distinguished Investigator Grant

Lourdes Fañanás, lecturer at the Faculty of Biology and the Institute of Biomedicine of the UB (IBUB), will lead a project funded with a NARSAD grant given to distinguished researchers, an initiative from the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation (United States), which promotes research in the field of mental disorders and neurological diseases.

The council of the Foundation –which includes distinguished scientists with Nobel Prizes- will send 1,7 million dollars to fund seventeen international science projects, which were selected in the 2017 call for the NARSAD Distinguished Investigator Grants. 

Lourdes Fañanás, expert on the study of genetic and environmental mechanisms related to human behavior and on the origins of neurological and mental diseases, will launch a project to study the impact of prenatal stress as a risk factor in the development of mental disorders.
