The geneticist Gemma Marfany has been awarded for her dissemination work

Gemma Marfany, IBUB researcher and professor at the Department of Genetics, Microbiology and Statistics of the UB, has published several books of scientific dissemination about forensic DNA and aging genetics, and has participated in television and radio programs and in numerous interviews for newspapers. She currently has a weekly section on digital El Nacional, where she publishes popular articles on scientific advances with a great media impact. She also makes contributions to the journal Mètode and lectures and teaches news conferences on institutes and schools on research topics, participates in film festivals and promotes other outreach activities.

The awards will be presented at a public event on April 2 at the Aula Magna de l’Edifici Històric.
