En Daniel és un estudiant d’Economia i Empresa a la UB que té ganes de millorar el seu neerlandès i fa intercanvi de català per neerlandès amb la Soraya, una estudiant de Dret de Groningen que aquest semestre fa una estada Erasmus a la UB. La Soraya ja havia tingut contacte amb la nostra llengua en viatges de vacances i no ha volgut desaprofitar l’oportunitat que li proporcionava la Borsa d’intercanvi lingüístic d’aprendre català, practicar-lo amb un nadiu i acostar-se més a una cultura amb la qual, diu, vol seguir lligada durant molts i molt anys. Li hem demanat que ens expliqui les seves motivacions i la seva experiència amb l’intercanvi lingüístic i aquí en teniu el resultat. Moltes gràcies a tots dos!

Having visited Catalonia in almost every summer the Catalan language started to become special to me, for many years I wanted to learn the basics of this language and living and studying in Barcelona would be the perfect opportunity. Personally I think Catalan is a unique and very beautiful language even though it is hard to learn if your native language is a Germanic one. Meeting with students of the university is a nice way to learn some basics considering the relaxed atmosphere and because it gives the opportunity to ask questions about the language and as well about the culture. Also the ‘Serveis Lingüístics‘ offers different ways and materials to learn more of the language. It’s a great thing when you start to recognize words and sentences in Catalan while staying in Catalonia and the people here are willing to help you learn the language. I can’t wait to spend my summer after school to learn more from Catalonia’s language and culture.
