(05/2019 - 31/12/2019)

Andrés IBARRA CORDERO is a predoctoral visiting fellow at ADHUC—Centre de Recerca Teoria, Gènere, Sexualitat. Graduated with honors in English Studies at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, with an MA in Comparative Literature from King’s College London, he has specialized in comparative literature, literary theory, gender studies and queer theory. He is based at the Amsterdam School for Cultural Analysis (ASCA), University of Amsterdam. His doctoral dissertation examines literary representations of queer chronotopes in contemporary English and Spanish fiction. This comparative perspective draws on Bakhtin’s concept of the chronotope to approach textual configurations that, following queer theory’s recent turn on temporalities, are at odds with normative arrangements and spatiotemporal world-views.
