Presentation of a Knowledge Transfer Project on Communicative Competence at an International Conference

15/12/2025

Within the framework of the 26th International Congress of the International Society for the Didactics of Language and Literature (SIDLL), held from 26 to 28 November 2025 at the University of Alcalá (Guadalajara, Spain), Alba Ambròs, together with Leonel Abarzúa and Albert Gener, presented part of the knowledge-transfer project she led for two years for the Jesuits Education Foundation of Catalonia.

In her presentation, Alba Ambròs provided a detailed account of the work carried out to strengthen written communicative competence among fifth- and sixth-grade primary education students, through projects designed as learning situations, with a competence-based, interdisciplinary, and contextualised approach. In these projects, work on discourse genres is organised around authentic communicative situations linked to areas such as, for example, citizenship education, historical thinking, and gender equity.

Participation in this international conference highlights the DHIGECS-COM group’s strong commitment to knowledge transfer, as well as its dedication to applied research that engages directly with school contexts and contributes to the improvement of teaching practices. Various members of the group took part in the design of the 18 learning situations: Concha Fuentes and Tània Martínez (History and Heritage), Carolina Martín (Arts), and Alba Ambròs and Leonel Abarzúa (Language and Literature).

The conference focused on the development of communicative skills in the language and literature classroom from the perspectives of research and teaching innovation.
