Interview with Doris Buu-Sao

The French magazine Mediapart conducted an interview with GER member researcher Doris Buu-Sao, professor at the University of Lille, about her most recent book.

With Le capitalisme au village. Pétrole, État et luttes environnementales en Amazonie (“Capitalism in the village: oil, state and environmental struggles in the Amazon”), published by CNRS Éditions, researcher Doris Buu-Sao, professor in Lille, offers a detailed ethnography of the “extractivist meeting” in a remote region of Peru. She examines the various ways in which predatory and polluting industries can connect with the indigenous communities on whose lands they operate.
