Guillem Domènech-Gil, a former PhD student of UB and who is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Linköping Universitet (Sweden), has been awarded with a Marie Curie Postdoctoral fellowship, entitled “Volcan Activity monItoring by light cycled dynamic operation of metal oxide gas sensors” (VolcanAI), under the supervision of Albert Romano-Rodriguez at the MIND group. From beginning of November, Guillem will develop advanced metal oxides for their use as active material in a gas sensors. A network of these sensors will be deployed around quiescent volcanos in Italy to monitor their activity, with the aim that the data generated can be used for meteorologic and climatic models.
