Sustainable mobility at the university

Description

Every day there are a large number of trips for work, study, leisure, among others. Depending on the mode of transport used in each of these trips, the impact on the environment will be greater or lesser.

For this reason it is very important to be aware of the impact we produce every time we use a private motor vehicle, where fuel consumption, emissions of air pollutants is higher, and noise increases. On the other hand, traveling on foot or by bicycle does not involve the consumption of fossil fuels, does not generate polluting emissions and is beneficial to health.

What can I do?

  • Bike parking at the UBTry to get around on foot or by bike whenever you can, as apart from being more sustainable it is also healthier.
  • Use longer public transport for longer journeys.
  • Avoid using the car whenever you can. In case you can’t do without it,
organize your trips with family or friends to go with you, or look for other people to share your car ride with (neighbors, co-workers or studios, etc.).
  • If you use your car or motorcycle, drive efficiently to reduce the pollution associated with using a motor vehicle.
