Campaign “Water does not fall from the sky”
Barcelona and its surroundings have experienced the three driest years since instrumental records have been kept, and we have entered an episode of drought unprecedented throughout the twentieth century. This situation has led to the implementation of a series of measures to reduce consumption in order to extend as much as possible the scarce resources available. The University of Barcelona, in addition to applying all the measures that the Government of the Generalitat progressively approves within the framework of the Special Drought Plan (Agreement GOV/1/2020), has carried out over the last 25 years numerous actions to reduce consumption with which it has achieved a reduction of more than 70%. With the aim of raising awareness among the university community about the need for responsible water consumption in the current drought emergency situation, the UB is promoting the communication and awareness campaign “Water does not fall from the sky”, in line with that of the Catalan Water Agency. On this page you will find all the information and resources of the campaign, as well as the measures taken by the UB to progressively reduce water consumption.
