The Faculty of Chemistry maintains its hegemony with the best degrees in all of Spain, according to the new edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject

Once again, the International Ranking QS World University Ranking by Subject 2019 positions the Faculty of Chemistry as the institution with the best degree in Chemistry from all over Spain. The degrees of Chemistry and Materials Engineering occupy the first position at Spanish level, while the degree of Chemical Engineering occupies the fourth position. At the international level, the degrees of Chemistry, Materials Engineering and Chemical Engineering of the Faculty are placed in positions 88, 152 and 122, respectively.

The University of Barcelona is one of the top 50 universities in the world in Librarianship and Information Management (27th position on a global scale), Anatomy and Physiology (30), Archaeology (48) and Philosophy (49), according to the new edition of QS World University Rankings by Subject 2019. In addition, it also stands out as one of the 100 best universities in the world in Arts and Humanities, Life Sciences and Medicine, and Natural Sciences.

This international ranking, which has been published today, Wednesday, February 27, evaluates the positioning of 1,222 institutions from around the world in a total of 48 disciplines corresponding to the areas of knowledge of Arts and Humanities, Social Sciences and Management of Companies, Life Sciences and Medicine, Natural Sciences, and Engineering and Technology.

The UB is among the top 100 universities in the world in 17 of the 48 disciplines of the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2019. In particular, it deals with the disciplines of Archaeology, Modern Languages, Philosophy, Agriculture, Anatomy and Physiology, Biological Sciences , Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Pharmacology, Chemistry, Marine and Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Anthropology, Education, Librarianship and Information Management, Social Policy and Administration, and Sociology. In addition, the UB obtains score in 37 of the 48 disciplines of the international classification.
