Academic calendar

Objectives

  • To provide sound, flexible training in response to the development of the economic and social context, with a particular focus on changes in industrial relations and in human resources management.
  • To provide interdisciplinary skills and knowledge to manage industrial relations.
  • To gain an understanding of the complexity and dynamic and interrelational nature of work.
  • To apply the knowledge that is gained in different areas: legal advice on employment, human resources management, organization of work, and management and mediation in the labour market.
  • To develop the capacity to apply information and communication technologies.
  • To develop the capacity to learn new knowledge independently and to access studies.

  • Understanding of the foundations of the Spanish legal system, constitutional framework and basic institutional framework.
  • Understanding of the most relevant aspects of contemporary economic, political and social history and of the dynamic nature of labour relations.
  • Capacity to apply qualitative and quantitative social research techniques to the study of industrial relations.
  • Understanding of the fundamental principles of economics, the labour market and employment policies and their importance in organizational contexts.
  • Theoretical and practical understanding of the legal framework applicable to companies and commercial activities.
  • Understanding of the structure and function of companies and ability to apply results analysis and organizational techniques.
  • Theoretical and practical understanding of staff management techniques in organizations.
  • Theoretical and practical understanding of the legal framework applicable to labour relations, union activity and social security actions in the management of public and private sector workers.
  • Understanding of and capacity to manage the basic aspects of government intervention in labour relations.
  • Understanding of the technical and legal aspects of occupational risk prevention and capacity to manage risk prevention activities.
  • Understanding of and capacity to manage fiscal obligations and understanding of accounting as an instrument for analysing the economic-financial information generated by companies.
  • Capacity to apply specific knowledge in the field of legal and labour advice.
  • Capacity to apply specific knowledge and techniques in the field of people management.
