Lost title

To obtain the duplicate of a lost degree corresponding to any of the degrees given at the Faculty, two independent formalities must be completed, in the following order.

By state regulations, before the rights of a lost duplicate title are paid, it is mandatory to announce in the Official State Bulletin and for a period of one month, the data of the lost title.

This procedure is carried out by the Secretariat of the Faculty, once the request of the holder of the document has been received. However, it is up to the holder of the document to pay the fee set by the BOE for the publication of the announcement, which responds to a standard model designed by the official publication itself.

Steps

  1. Once the request of the interested party has been received, the Secretariat will initiate the announcement through the Electronic Administration of the Official State Bulletin.
  2. The Secretariat prepares the text of the publication and passes it on to the signature of the Secretary or Secretary of the Faculty, at the same time as it sends the person concerned the receipt with which she will have to pay the corresponding fee to any BBVA office.
  3. The person concerned will send the copy of the payment voucher to the Secretariat (fil-secretaria@ub.edu), in which the NRC (payment code incorporated by the contributing banking institution) will have to be read out very clearly.
  4. The Secretariat will update the NRC that certifies the payment of the announcement's publication rate, through the BOE Electronic Administration.
  5. The BOE will publish the loss announcement and the Secretariat will notify the data subject, attaching to the communication a copy of the published announcement.
  6. After one month of publication, the interested party will be able to start the second procedure.

One month after the date of publication of the announcement, the interested party may begin the processing of the duplicate of the degree, in the Secretariat of the Faculty.

Once the fee corresponding to the rights of issue of the duplicate was paid, an official safeguard was created that would have the validity of the title until the final document was delivered to it by the Secretariat.

If the date of issue of the original title was earlier than January 1988, the Secretariat would process the duplicate through the Ministry of Education or equivalent. If the degree is a subsequent issue, the duplicate will be issued through the University of Barcelona itself, according to the usual procedure.

The Secretariat will give notice to the data subject when the duplicate (which will carry a diligence indicating its duplicate status from the original), is in its possession and in a position to be delivered, always according to the procedure of handing over titles to the data subject (graduate official university master's degree | doctorate).
