(Filosofia i Gènere – ADHUC)

Simone Weil, a book edited by Emilia Bea and Carmen Revilla Guzmán (Seminari Filosofia i Gènere-ADHUC), both researchers of the project “La transmisión desde el pensamiento filosófico femenino”, FFI2015-63828-P (MINECO/FEDER, UE), has just been published. This new volume of the collection “El arte de leer” (Eudeba and Katz Editores) explores and evaluates the importance that the reading and direct analysis of the sources of different spiritual and philosophical traditions had for Simone Weil, and which enabled her to acquire an adequate perspective to analyze the events of her time. With this aim, this volume gathers articles, specially prepared for this book, written by specialists on the work of Simone Weil: Emilia Bea, Robert Chenavier, Michel Narcy, Carmen Revilla Guzmán, Rosa Rius Gatell, Bertrand Saint-Sernin and Chiara Zamboni. The different studies analyze Simone Weil’s readings of works by Plato, Spinoza, Machiavelli, Rousseau and of the Chinese Taoist tradition.
