Introduction
The University Master's Degree in Diplomacy and International Organizations has the objective of training professionals to become diplomats, civil servants of international organizations such as the United Nations or the European Union, experts and advisors of international organizations (NGOs, consultancies, etc.), or managers of international projects in the public administration. The best specialists and professionals in each sector provide the corresponding training.
This master's degree combines theoretical and practical training in Spanish and English with a compulsory in-company or institutional placement. The placement may take place in embassies, consulates, permanent representations, international organizations, private companies or non-profit organizations.
Students can choose between the specialization in Human Security and the specialization in European and International Economic Relations.
Learning objectives
- To know the structure, operations, competencies and mechanisms of access to the diplomatic corps and to prepare for a professional career in an international organization, in the European Union or in multinational companies.
- To understand the functioning of the European Union, its external relations, the Common Commercial Policy, the internal market and the right of competition and free movement of people, among other areas.
- To know and learn to apply the legal principles of diplomacy and paradiplomacy, the national laws that affect international relations, and the international law, trade law, and recruitment and arbitration.
- To understand the principles of the protection of the environment and the management of energy resources encompassing a legal, political and economic perspective; as well as the principles and institutions of sustainable development.
