Abstract

I will present 3 problems related to (i) Grice’s analysis of speaker meaning, (ii) Stalnaker’s account of assertion, and (iii) the existence of so called “anti presuppositions”, and claim that they can be solved by taking into account what I will call the “volatility of context”.
