Abstract
In compulsory education teaching and learning the linguistic competence in their areas of speaking and listening to communicate and build knowledge, requires specific educational actions. This work reviews descriptively the perspectives of study that approach this subject. We have consulted several databases to select the relevant authors and identify the strategies and activities that each perspective prioritizes to teach and learn the use of oral language in the classroom. The perspectives analyzed are seven, including the didactic of the language, the communicative interaction in the classroom, or the TIL (Integrated Language Treatment), among others. The teaching strategies are diverse and the most frequent activities are oral presentations and debates. The results provide an overview and show that the teaching and learning of the use of oral language require programming and definition of systematic learning objectives.
