UB-specific undergraduate courses
UB-specific undergraduate courses are University of Barcelona qualifications issued under the terms of Article 7 of the Organic Law on the University System and are not considered official as defined by law.
The UB offers the following UB-specific undergraduate qualifications:
Undergraduate degree (graduat)
Honours degree (graduat superior)
Request for issue of the degree certificate
Once they have completed their studies, students must request the issue of their degree certificate to the Secretary's Office for Students and Teaching Staff and pay the corresponding fee.
Prices
As approved by the Governing Council of the UB, the fee is the same as established each academic year in the decree on public fees for official degrees.

Documentation
The following documents are required to request the issue of the certificate:
- Valid identity document.
- Documentation demonstrating eligibility for total or partial exemption of the payment of public fees, if applicable. Documentación acreditativa de la exención total o parcial de la tasa del precio público, en su caso.
Delivery of the degree certificate
The degree certificate should be collected from the Secretary's Office for Students and Teaching Staff of the issuing faculty by the student concerned, who must provide a valid form of ID.
If this is not possible, three options are available:
- Ask the faculty to send the certificate by certified mail to a Spanish or foreign address. This service is subject to payment of a handling fee, which is set each year by the Board of Trustees.
- Authorize another person to collect the degree certificate. The interested party must sign the authorization digitally or by hand, and a copy of their ID document must be provided at the time of collection.
Duplicates or modifications
Graduates can request the issue of a duplicate certificate if it is necessary to amend or correct the information displayed in the original document. To obtain the certificate, the interest party must submit the request, state why they are requesting a duplicate or the amendment, and pay any official fee that applies.
If changes are required for reasons attributable to the interested party, a fee will be charged for the issue of a duplicate certificate.
The most reasons for requesting a duplicate are as follows:
1. Change of name, surname(s) or personal information.
2. Loss.
3. Impairment.
If the duplicate is requested to reflect a change of name for the purpose of gender recognition, no fee is charged.
UB-specific lifelong learning degrees
In the exercise of its academic freedom, the University of Barcelona offers lifelong learning programmes under the terms of Article 7 of the Organic Law on the University System and articles 36 and 37 of Royal Decree 822/2021, which are not considered official as defined by law. Once the forms of assessment foreseen in the corresponding syllabuses have been successfully completed, these studies lead to the award of the following qualifications:
Students with a university degree:
- Lifelong learning master's degree certificate (60, 90 or 120 credits)
- Specialization diploma (between 30 and 59 credits)
- Expert diploma (between 15 and 29 credits)
- Advanced university certificate (less than 15 credits)
- University microcredential certificate (less than 15 credits)
Students without a university degree:
- Advanced university diploma (30 or more credits)
- Expert certificate (between 15 and 29 credits)
- Advanced university certificate (less than 15 credits)
- University microcredential certificate (less than 15 credits)
Issue of the degree certificate
Once the examination records have been graded, the University of Barcelona issues the diplomas and certificates of attainment to those students that have completed their studies.
No fee is payable for the issue of a lifelong learning certificate.

UB-specific postgraduate degrees issued under regulations prior to Royal Decree 822/2021
The University of Barcelona teaches UB-specific postgraduate programmes under the terms of Article 7 of Organic Law on the University system. These studies are not considered official as defined by law. Once the forms of assessment foreseen in the corresponding syllabuses have been successfully completed, these studies lead to the award of the following qualifications:
Students with a university degree:
- • Master's degree certificate (60 credits or more)
- • Specialization diploma or postgraduate diploma (30 credits or more)
- • Expert certificate (15 credits or more)
- • Advanced university course certificate (less than 15 credits)
Students without a university degree:
- University extension certificate (less than 30 credits)
- University extension diploma (30 credits or more)
