Jean Wyllys is a journalist, researcher, defender of LGTBIQ+ rights, former deputy of the Brazilian congress now in exile; he is currently doing his predoctoral research at the Universitat de Barcelona. Wyllys, one of the most prominent names in the political scene and activism in favor of sexual rights in Brazil, will share in conversation with Helena González Fernández (ADHUC-Universitat de Barcelona) his critical view of the current situation in his country, the rise of Bolsonarism, the murder of Marielle Franco, the role of fake news, the outbreak of violence against the defense of sexual and gender rights but also the challenge and opportunity that Lula's candidacy represents in the next presidential elections. The event will be introduced by Montserrat Llobet, Vice-Rector for Equality and Gender at the Universitat de Barcelona, ​​and Mònica Rius Piniés, director of Càtedra UNESCO Dones.
