The rise and expansion of the crime novel has become an international literary phenomenon. The seminar "¿Es la ficción criminal una nueva Weltliteratur?", coordinated by Elena Losada, from the Centre de recerca Teoria, Gènere, Sexualitat ADHUC, proposes to carry out a reflection on the current role of the crime novel in the world literary scene. In this seminar, which will be held at the University of Barcelona, will participate Stewart King (Monash University) and Gustavo Forero (Universidad de Antioquia). Through both interventions the common culture of crime fiction will be analyzed by studying the possible tensions between the particular and universal canonical and the specific circumstances of the colombian crime fiction. The act will close with a discussion, moderated by Elena Losada, which attempts to answer the question that names the reflection of this seminar. These conferences are part of the research project "Víctimas y agresoras. Representaciones de la violencia en la narrativa criminal escrita por mujeres” (VANACEM). Free admission.
