Pau Matheu (Seminari Filosofia i Gènere, Universitat de Barcelona) is the director of the course "Simone Weil: L'alliberadora exigència de desitjar la veritat". Its objective is to understand in depth some of the aspects of the thinking of Simone Weil (1909-1943), who was not resigned to being only a passive contemplator, and therefore participated from a very young age in the trade union struggle and the fight against fascism. However, her love for the truth left her in an uncomfortable situation that shies away from thick classifications: mystic without a church, a militant without a party, platonic and materialistic.

Carmen Revilla and Rosa Rius (Seminari Filosofia i Gènere-ADHUC, Universitat de Barcelona) and Josep Otón (Institut Superior de Ciències Religioses de Barcelona) will participate  in the course.

The course is organized by the Institut d'Humanitats de Barcelona with the collaboration of the CCCB, Seminari Filosofia i Gènere-ADHUC and Diputació de Barcelona.
