The PhD candidate Edgar Strahele, from Seminari Filosofia i Gènere – ADHUC, will defend his doctoral dissertation, supervised by Fina Birulés, entitled "Hannah Arendt: Una lectura desde la autoridad". Through the works written by Hannah Arendt, this dissertation analyzes the problems and the ambivalences linked to the notion of authority in order to recover a category which, having been central to the philosophical and political debate for years, has not been widely studied in its own specificity. This research aims at investigating not only the concept of authority, but also the place this concept occupies and the role it plays in Arendt’s thought. This thesis provides a reading on Hannah Arendt from the notion of authority that delves into her work and that triggers the need to think about the crisis of authority that currently affects contemporary democracies.
