MUSAS: Complementary and Integrative Therapies in the Reproductive Process

Revista

Issue 3.1 (2018) of MUSAS. Revista de Investigación en Mujer, Salud y Sociedad, directed by Josefina Goberna Tricas, researcher of ADHUC and professor at the Department of Public Health, Mental Health and Perinatal Nursing of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the Universitat de Barcelona, has just been published. This new issue, entitled "Complementary and Integrative Therapies in the Reproductive Process" and coordinated by Maite Miranda García, addresses the growing interest for concepts such as «harmony, balance, integral health…» and the consequent demand for natural and complementary medicines. Its articles approach the use of said therapies in the stages of the reproductive process: the efficacy of moxibustion for correcting non-cephalic presentation, the use of acupuncture as a treatment for breastfeeding problems or endometriosis, the use of aromatherapy in postpartum and puerperium, the application of intracutaneous sterile water injections for relieving pain during childbirth, or the several non-pharmacological methods for inducing lactation in adoption, surrogacy and the non-gestational mother in lesbian couples.
