Ocaña. Voices, echoes and distortions

Book

Rafael M. Mérida (ADHUC—Universitat de Lleida) has published the volume Ocaña. Voces, ecos y distorsiones. José Pérez Ocaña (1947-1983) is one of the best-known Spanish art creators and, paradoxically, most ignored in the last quarter of the 20th century. This volume aims to shed new light on the topic and raise new questions about his work, his personality and on this circumstance, by researchers specialized in the field of arts, philology or cultural and gender studies. The interdisciplinary approach allows understanding the plastic work and performances, the person and the character from a queer, antipatriarchal and anti-heteronormative orbit.

This publication is a result of the project "Diversity of gender, masculinity and culture in Spain, Argentina and Mexico" (FEM2015-69863-P MINECO-FEDER).
