A Saia increases its series of feminist journals: 'Alborada', 'Abrente' and 'Lúa nova'

Digital edition of journals

Helena González Fernández (ADHUC—Universitat de Barcelona) has coordinated, together with Mariam Mariño Costales (Consello da Cultura Galega), the digital edition of the journals Alborada (1970-1972), Abrente (1982-1986), and Lúa nova (1986?). These publications seeked to help raise women's awareness in the labour, social, and personal spheres, as well as to open lines of debate linked to the feminist, union, and nationalist debates. The core ideas at the debate are: women workers' rights, the exploitation in feminized sectors such as the textile sector, the canning industry, and the agrarian sector, the denouncement of acts of violence and aggression against women, and the March 8 demands. The edition of these historical journals is added to the A Saia digital archive, and is a result of the project Tránsfugas y parias modernas: género y exclusión en la cultura popular del s. XXI (FEM2017-83974-P MINECO/AEI/FEDER, UE).
