Aurora: Papeles del "Seminario María Zambrano", 20, 2019

Journal

The latest issue of the journal Aurora: papeles del Seminario María Zambrano, directed by Carmen Revilla Guzmán, researcher of Seminari Filosofia i Gènere–ADHUC, and Virginia Trueba, both from the University of Barcelona, has been published. This issue, number 20, has been dedicated to analyzing one of María Zambrano's most important works, Persona y democracia. The researchers approach some of the fundamental questions of Zambranian political thinking: the concept of "person" and its relationship with democracy, the musical feature of her definition of democracy as an ordered plurality, the concept of sacrificial history and the differences between democracy and demagogy. In addition, some articles also analyze the relationships that can be established between Zambrano's thinking and that of other authors such as Hannah Arendt or Simone Weil. As usual, this issue includes a section with book reviews.
