Monograph on poetics and politics of the gaze in "452ºF"

Journal Monograph

The journal 452ºF: revista de teoría de la literatura y literatura comparada, in no. 27 (2022), publishes the monograph "Cuerpo, visión y textualidad: poéticas y políticas de la mirada en la contemporaneidad,” coordinated by Maria Isern Ordeig (ADHUC-Universitat de Barcelona and Université Paris 8 Vincennes—Saint Denis, LEGS) and Marta Pascua Canelo (Universidad de Salamanca). The dossier attempts to answer a series of questions about contemporary ocularcentrism: What is political about the new poetics of the gaze? What do they crystallize about the social, ethical and intellectual problems of a globalized geopolitics? How are optics, representation, identification and bodies related? What is the relationship between the body and the gaze in recent literature? What corporalities do the dominant scopic regimes in contemporary times project and make invisible? From what devices are these regimes built and what are the creative possibilities to rethink hegemonic visual frameworks?

This monograph includes numerous articles by specialists in Iberian and Latin American literature, such as Meritxell Matas (ADHUC-Universitat de Barcelona), Meri Torras Francés (Cuerpo y Textualidad, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona), Carlos Ayram (Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile/ANID), Natalia Toleo Jofré (Universidad de Chile), Sara VIllamarín-Freire (Universidade da Coruña), among others. The monograph also includes an interview to the philosopher Andrea Soto Calderón.
