Talk and exhibition 'Gaza Continues to be History'
Universitat de Barcelona
On Wednesday 8 October at 5 p.m. a talk on the exhibition ‘Gaza continues to be history’ will be held in the staff room (sala professorat) of the Faculty of Philology and Communication at the University of Barcelona. The exhibition will be on display from 3 to 23 October in the Cloister of Letters (Claustre de Lletres). The talk will feature a talk organised by ADHUC and the UNESCO Chair in Women, Development and Cultures, entitled ‘Art in Gaza: resistance and testimony in the face of genocide.’ Palestinian visual artist Samira Badran and UB Arab studies researcher Danae Fonseca will participate. The conversation will focus on the work of artists who are mostly based in Gaza.
The exhibition 'Gaza Continues to be History' explores the context of the Palestinian experience, focusing on the land, places, and people of Gaza. Through texts, drawings, and audiovisual materials, the show offers a comprehensive vision of the historical, economic, geographic, demographic, and creative aspects of life in Gaza. The exhibition brings together artworks and photographs, and has been made possible thanks to the collaboration of the Palestinian Museum of Birzeit, which has shared the images on display.
