Gabriel García Atiénzar is full professor at the University of Alicante. His main lines of research focus on the analysis of recent prehistory, with special emphasis on territorial dynamics and changes in the settlement pattern of prehistoric communities, from the first farmers communities until the appearance of the first evidence of social hierarchies, settled in the Mediterranean area of the Iberian Peninsula. In his research, the use of GIS technologies plays an important role as an analytical tool, especially in the reconstruction of economic patterns and symbolic landscapes.
