Thanks to the invitation of Prof. Wang Lihong, the results of the Artsoundscapes project were presented and taught as part of the course “The Archaeology of Prehistoric Art and Music”, held from 15-26 June at the Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts (Xi’an, China).
The course introduced students to the project’s interdisciplinary approach, combining archaeology, art history, music archaeology, and digital technologies to investigate the sensory and cultural dimensions of prehistoric artistic expression. Through lectures, discussions, and case studies, participants explored how the Artsoundscapes project contributes to a deeper understanding of the relationship between visual culture, sound, and human experience in prehistory.
The course also promoted international academic exchange, fostering dialogue between European and Chinese perspectives on prehistoric art, music, and archaeological research.
