One of the key points in order to improve and raise the level of safety and protection of human, animal, plant and environmental health, in the face of a possible unintentional exposure to biological agents, is the information and training of all personnel involved in biological and biomedical research at the University.
This information and training must be specifically focused on the work place, or function of each person, and ensure that they receive sufficient and appropriate training and accurate information.
Article 5 of the CBSUB Regulations states that one of the functions of the Biosafety Committee is to promote information and training on safety in research and teaching practices with biological agents.
In this line of action we have established a biosafety training program with the objective of guaranteeing that all members of the university community who handle biological agents receive adequate training to enable them to identify biological risks and to know and integrate preventive and protective measures to avoid them in their daily lives.
