Extraordinary doctoral awards

In accordance with the criteria established by the rules for awarding extraordinary doctoral awards of the University of Barcelona, the Faculty groups the theses defended by Departments, based on the departmental affiliation of the professor director of the work, by agreement of the Doctorate Commission of the centre.

Between the months of December and March each year, the Doctorate Commission of the Faculty promotes and monitors the process of awarding the prizes and the Faculty Board elevates the Center's proposal to the definitive approval of the Governing Council of the University of Barcelona.

The awarding of the accreditations to the recipients of the award is held during the official ceremony that each year the Institution performs as the inauguration of the academic year.

Resolves the call and once the final resolution has been received, the Secretariat communicates the award of the prize to the graduates who obtained it. Doctors who obtain the extraordinary prize and have obtained the degree in a curriculum prior to the ESS regulation may apply for a duplicate of the degree in which the extraordinary prize is recorded, or alternatively obtain the refund of the amount of the degree fee they paid at the time of application.
