This year the conference examines issues related to technological advances and their impact on democracy and putting special attention to blockchain technology and artificial intelligence (AI) regarding the media, social networks and governance of societies
Digital platforms have turned free speech into a governance challenge. AI moderation, disinformation, and so-called “cultural wars” redefine the dynamics within the public sphere. Can algorithms protect and enhance our civic participation or deliberation, or do they silently restrict it? Experts will discuss on new legal and normative frameworks on free speech in an algorithmic and automatized environment.
