He mainly works in the “Seguiment marí” project which consists in a long-term monitoring of the marine biodiversity of the Medes Islands and Cap de Creus marine reserves. The aim of this project is to assess the conservation status of the marine habitats and populations from both MPA, to detect risk situations to the natural heritage and to improve previous knowledge about its species and habitats in order to facilitate a more sustainable territorial management. Previously, David participated in a project related with population dynamics of sea urchins in Port Cros National Park and participated in the reimplantation of red coral (Corallium rubrum) in the Medes Island reserve seized from poachers.

My research is focused in the development and the evolution of the nervous system. In our group, lead by Professor Pedro Martínez, we study a very primitive marine animal, an acoel flatworm (phylum Xenacoelomorpha). What is interesting about this phylum is that some of them have a diffuse nervous system whereas others have a brain. We study this evolution with a range of molecular biology and also bioinformatics tools.

My job is focused on the ecology and marine conservation of coastal benthic communities. I am currently working on the effects of marine heat waves on Mediterranean benthic species, specifically red coral, combining long-term environmental and ecological data sets. Since 2018, I have also been part of the marine monitoring team of the Montgrí, the Medes Islands and the Baix Ter Natural Park and the Cap de Creus Natural Park.

Biologist, with a master's degree in Biodiversity Conservation and Use. My research focuses on the ecology of mountain ecosystems, specifically on the functioning of peatland ecosystems and the carbon cycle. My scientific motivation is to understand the relationship between land use and ecosystem functioning, exploring ecological boundaries between use and conservation.

My research interests are focused on agroecology and organic management. I work mainly with extensive crops, also with horticultural and fruit trees, and in the interactions between this management and biodiversity. In addition, I carry out outreach tasks related to agriculture (training and advice on agro-ecological production) and biodiversity studies (flora, continental molluscs and arthropods).

My main research line consists in the study of vascular plant ecology on Pyrenean wetlands. I have studied the plant-plant interactions between three mire species, and now I take part in a monitored project about the effects of cattle and grazing to wetland vegetation: we register the recuperation of vegetation after a complete grazing exclusion. Last, I work on betadiversity patterns of wetland plants in a fragmented landscape as Central Pyrenees.
