A basic concern of RISKNAT has always been the transfer to society of insights generated by scientific research. Some of the hazards described (floods, landslides, permafrost degradation) are caused or intensified under the current climate change. A deeper knowledge of the complexities of the earth’s surface system becomes indispensable for natural risks mitigation. However, societal awareness is also required in the implementation of effective adaptation and risk reduction policies.

From these perspectives, we develop activities along three lines:

Contracts and agreements
with companies
and public institutions

Citizenship participation

Training capacity
