UB Economics is focusing its main attention in these four targets:

MSc in Economics

Nowadays, our Master’s degree in Economics is the main way in for the students willing to course our PhD in Economics programme. The Master is enterly taught in English, and the students are mainly coming from different countries around the world. From this academic year on, our comitment is to increase requirements and quality standards for the student’s admission acording to an increasing demand.

PhD in Economics

Our PhD in Economics is distinguished with the Spanish Ministry of Education’s quality award, which acknowledges quality and impact of the resulting research. In order to mantain and to ensure this distinction we are improving the recruiting itinerarios of the new PhD students establishing new colaboration agreements with other reputaded universities for the students and professors exchange.

Research in economics activity dissemination

UB Economics pretends to be a an appealing window to the international academy of the research and the academic activities developed in the Faculty of Economics and Business, particulary in the economic fields: seminars, courses, workshops, etc and the promotion of the top international research developed. Actually, from this academic year on, to publish in the most cited journals will be incentivated.

Job Market

According to its internationalization will, Faculty of Economics and Business of Universitat de Barcelona hired on 2011 for the first time ever  7 junior doctors in the Economics Job Market. Most of the UB Economics resources will be financing new researchers contracts in order to attract the best junior researchers possible and to improve our research and academic standards.
