Clarisa Danae Fonseca Azuara is a postdoctoral researcher for Consolidated Research Group "Creació i Pensament de les Dones" (code 2021 SGR 01097) in the Department of Classical, Romance, and Semitic Philology. Her research focuses on contemporary Arab studies, with a special emphasis on the intersections of art, literature, and gender in Palestinian contexts. She has collaborated on research projects addressing cultural decolonization and Arab feminisms. Currently, she is part of the research group "Arab Ideologies and Cultural Expressions – IEXCUL" at the Autonomous University of Madrid. Previously, she was a Juan de la Cierva postdoctoral researcher and a postdoctoral fellow at The Palestinian Museum in Birzeit. Additionally, she has presented her research at international conferences and conducted academic stays at institutions such as the International University of Rabat and Saint Joseph University in Beirut.

Her academic work promotes a critical and multidisciplinary analysis from a feminist perspective. Among her most notable publications are: “I have, because you are my lady, I have a reason to live”: Palestine, woman and mother in resistance poetry (Miscelánea de Estudios Árabes y Hebraicos. Sección Árabe-Islam, vol. 73, 2024) and Flags, watermelons, and other fruits: the national symbols of the Palestinian matria, co-authored (Revista de Estudios Internacionales Mediterráneos, 2024).
