Elena Losada translates the book that collects all the letters by Clarice Lispector

BOOK

Elena Losada (ADHUC-Universitat de Barcelona) translates the volume Todas las cartas (Siruela, 2013), which compiles all the correspondence of Clarice Lispector, from 1940 to 1977, with a prologue and notes by Teresa Montero. This collection of letters offers very detailed information about the personal life, opinions and literary activity of an essential writer. Although a part of this volume, the letters to her sisters, had already been published previously under the title of Queridas mías (2010), the current publication completes the range of recipients and topics. For this reason, this collection constitutes a very important tool for understanding the Brazilian publishing world of the 50s, 60s and 70s and offers a direct testimony of how Clarice Lispector fought to get her works published or how she reacted against a bad French translation of Perto do coração selvagem.
