Martha Isabel Cortés Ocazionez is a Sociologist, Master in Museology and Heritage Management from the National University of Colombia and a PhD student in Society and Culture: History, Anthropology, Art, and Heritage at the University of Barcelona. Her professional career has been related to the design of national and local cultural policies and the management and research of museological projects where she has worked as a researcher-curator and planning analyst. Her doctoral research project explores the impact of cultural policies on the configuration of the museological field in Colombia by reviewing professionalization, territorial planning, and cultural governance.
