Constitution of the Biosafety Committee

The Biosafety Committee of the University of Barcelona (CBSUB), created by agreement of the Governing Council on July 16, 2015, was constituted on March 1. Members:

  • Dr. Domènec Espriu Climent, Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation and Transfer, President
  • Dr. Raquel Martín, of the Department of Cell Biology, Immunology and Neurosciences
  • Dr. David Miñana, from the Department of Microbiology and Sanitary Parasitology.
  • Dr. Anna Planavila, from the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (Biology)
  • Mr. Jose Ramón Gumiel, OSSMA technician specialized in industrial hygiene.
  • Ms. Begoña Castillejos, OSSMA technician specializing in industrial hygiene
  • Representative of the Safety and Health Committee, pending appointment
  • Pedro Moreno, head of the Office of Safety, Health and the Environment (OSSMA), secretary

The purpose of the Committee is to assess, evaluate and support the University in scientific research and teaching activities involving the use of biological agents, and to ensure that the obligations required by biosafety regulations are fulfilled.
